Robert Richardson

Robert Richardson joined ABC 33/40 as a reporter in June 2013. He is thrilled to be working for the hometown news team he watched as a teenager.

Robert is from Homewood and attended the Alabama School of Fine Arts, where he majored in Music and Math/Science. He studied film and digital media at Baylor University, and completed the honors college program with a thesis concentration of adaptation screenwriting.

He received a master's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Maryland. During graduate school he won the 2007 National Mark of Excellence Award in Television Feature Photography from the Society of Professional Journalists

Robert began his reporting career at KSWO in southwest Oklahoma, and most recently worked for WHNT in Huntsville. During college he interned at CBS Atlanta, and while in Maryland he was a freelance production assistant on segments for ESPN, NFL Network, Fox Sports, and CBS Sports.

In his free time, Robert stays up too late following the Los Angeles Dodgers and gets up too early to watch London's Chelsea FC and other European soccer teams.
