Vigil planned for victim of unsolved murder

Posted: Updated:

A Bessemer family will come together to remember 17-year old Quinterrius Baldwin Steele during a candlelight vigil, at 6:30PM, Wednesday, October 16, 2013.  Steele was shot to death, and his murder is unsolved.

Relatives and friends will meet at the corner of 16th Street South and Berkley Avenue in Bessemer.  According to his mother Angela Steele, Steele was standing outside on the corner with friends when someone drove by and opened fire on the group, killing the 17-year-old and wounding another young man. A suspect was arrested and held in jail for 6 months, but was released due to lack of evidence.

"We are asking for anyone with information in Quin's case to please come forward. It's been two years of heartache and pain and not knowing who killed him is so hard on our family", said Angela.

For additional information, please contact Quinterrius' mother, Angela Steele at 205-613-6704.
