AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — The Auburn Tigers insist they're not looking ahead to a game with No. 9 Texas A&M, but they are perhaps building for the future.

The Tigers (4-1) face struggling FCS team Western Carolina Saturday before their trip to College Station with freshman quarterback Jeremy Johnson replacing Nick Marshall, who has a knee injury.

Johnson hasn't played this season but was Alabama's Mr. Football as a high school senior. Coach Gus Malzahn announced the move on Twitter Friday evening. Malzahn says he "has a lot of confidence in him and he is well prepared."

Marshall was injured against Mississippi. Johnson gets the nod over Jonathan Wallace, who started the final four games last season.

Western Carolina (1-5) hasn't beaten an FCS or FBS team since 2010, a span of 31 games.
