Candidates for four Birmingham municipal seats will square off again in runoff elections Tuesday.

For City Council District 2, incumbent Kim Rafferty faces challenger Rolanda Hollis. Former city councilor Leroy Bandy and Marcus Lundy will face off for the District 9 seat, which City Council President Roderick Royal is leaving.

On the school board, business owner Sherman Collins will go against former Midfield superintendent Douglas Ragland for District 1. Retired principal Gwendolyn Thomas Bell and Cheri A. Gardner will vie for the District 6 school board seat.

Twenty-one percent of registered voters in Birmingham cast ballots in the August election.

The runoff is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8.
