UAB school of nursing set to host "Pink Day" activities

Posted: Updated:
BIRMINGHAM - AL -

The Rural Breast Cancer Survivor's Study Team at the UAB School of Nursing will host Pink Day activities at the school for the fifth consecutive year to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, raise awareness for breast health and honor those whose lives have been touched and shaped by breast cancer. This year's event will take place at the UAB School of Nursing, located at 1714 9th Ave. South. The activities will be held from 9-11 a.m.

The Brighton Collectibles store at the Riverchase Galleria joins the School of Nursing-led Young Breast Cancer Survivorship Network (YBCSN) initiative to raise money for the network's programs as part of Brighton's Power of Pink campaign. For each $60 Power of Pink bracelet sold, Brighton and the Riverchase Galleria store will donate a portion of the proceeds to the YBCSN. In addition to the bracelet, there are coordinating earrings and a necklace, plus pink leather and microfiber accessories that will be available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds from those items also will be given to the YBCSN.

In addition to the Brighton Fundraiser, the Rural Breast Cancer Survivor's Study Team will sell Pink Day T-shirts with a portion of the sales going directly to fund breast cancer research.
