City of Carbon Hill Mayor James "Pee Wee" Richardson has been released from jail after posting a $250,000 property bond following his arrest last week on sex charges.

Richardson, 61, was arrested Sept. 19 on 11 charges including sexual abuse, harassment and soliciting a prostitute. In an indictment, authorities say Richardson harassed four victims while they were in the Carbon Hill city jail. Richardson has denied any wrongdoing.

An attorney representing Richardson requested a bail reduction for his client Thursday, but a judge denied the request though the cash bond requirement was lifted, allowing the acceptance of a property bond to be posted.
