MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Auburn wide receiver Jaylon Denson will miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury in the Tigers' loss at LSU last week, Gus Malzahn said today.

Denson, a 6-foot-3, 219-pound junior from Hoover, tweeted one day after the game that he tore his patellar tendon in his left knee. He has since traveled to The Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Pensacola, Fla., where he underwent surgery to repair the tear.

Prior to the injury, Denson recorded three receptions for 45 yards in four starts for the Tigers, and he was considered to be the best blocking-receiver on the team. Malzahn described the loss as "a huge blow" for Auburn.

Below you can read several of Denson's tweets regarding the injury, surgery and rehabilitation, which he has already begun back at the Auburn football facility.

The Tigers (3-1, 1-1) will have a bye this weekend before hosting No. 21 Ole Miss at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Oct. 5.
