Report: T.J. Yeldon to miss first quarter vs CSU

Posted: Updated:

Alabama running back T.J. Yeldon will not play in the first quarter against Colorado State, according to the Anniston Star.

The newspaper cited a "source close to the situation" who said the running back is suspended for the first 15 minutes of the game after drawing an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty last week against Texas A&M.

Yeldon drew a penalty for making a "money" gesture and a double throat-slash following his second quarter touchdown. He apologized for the celebration in a statement released through the school:

"I want to apologize to everyone for my selfish actions on Saturday. That is not the way I want to represent myself, my family and our team."

Jalston Fowler and Kenyan Drake will likely be the main running backs used in the first quarter against Colorado State.

The game is scheduled for Saturday night at 6 at Bryant Denny Stadium.
