Tuscaloosa police need the public's assistance in identifying a woman wanted on child endangerment charges.

According to a release, officers responded to report of a drug-fueled mother who walked out of DCH Regional Medical Center shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday, leaving her newborn behind. Police believe she gave a false alias while being admitted earlier in the day. She reportedly left the hospital with two black males. She is said to have a large tattoo in the middle of her chest.

Investigators have filed charges of "chemical endangerment for exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are produced or distributed."

Anyone with information regarding the identity and/or location of the suspect is asked to please contact the Tuscaloosa County Crime Stoppers at 205-752-7867 (STOP) or text "Tusc", along with your tip to 274637 (CRIMES). A cash reward will be offered to anyone with information that leads to an arrest.
