AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — The Auburn-Mississippi State game has become about getting off to a good start in Southeastern Conference play.

It's one reason why Bulldogs coach Dan Mullen considers last year's victory over the Tigers as so significant personally.

The two teams face each other Saturday night in their mutual SEC opener for the sixth straight year. It's the 10th consecutive time Mississippi State has been the first SEC opponent for Auburn (2-0).

The Bulldogs (1-1) last season picked up Mullen's first win in 13 tries over an SEC West opponent other than Mississippi. He says that was one of his top wins as a head coach.

Mississippi State quarterback Tyler Russell is questionable after sustaining a concussion in the opener against Oklahoma State two weeks ago.
