University of Tulsa quarterback Cody Green has taken a lot of criticism since last Thursday. The senior signal caller looked pretty ineffective against Bowling Green in the season opener.
While Cody wasn't the only reason the Golden Hurricane offense sputtered, fair or unfair, The finger seems to always get pointed at the quarterback.
Coach Bill Blankenship says the way Cody can silence his critics is pretty simple.
"He has said several times to the media welcome to the big time. It comes with the turf whether you're the kicker or thrower, passer. Anything that happens in the open you're going to put yourself up for criticism. I just think that comes with the turf. Nobody likes it. I don't like it, but it's part of the DNA of being a quarterback or coach or any of those things you do. As I shared with him and as he shared with me, you want to quite the critics? Play better. I've got to coach better. He's got to play better."
The Golden Hurricane get a chance to prove that they can play better than they did against Bowling Green this Saturday when they host Colorado State. Kickoff at Chapman Stadium is set for 6:00pm.
