Your Health September 3, 2013 Wine may help ward off depression

More people may raise their glasses to more mixed messages about drinking wine.
A new Spanish study suggests a little wine might help people avoid depression.
 A preventive medicine and public health expert at the University of Navarra, in Pamplona says, while drinking a lot of wine or other alcohol may be a sign of depression or other mental health problems, alcohol in moderation may benefit mental health.
     He says in the same way a little wine may be good for the heart.
    The study's researchers are talking about one drink a day preferably wine to possibly help prevent depression.

    Other mental health experts not involved with the study had reservations about the findings.
     The report appears in the online journal, BMC Medicine.
