An apparent drug deal in plain view in Broken Arrow led to the arrest of two convicted felons on cocaine trafficking charges earlier this week.

According to a booking report, a Broken Arrow police detective saw two vehicles meet up at the QuikTrip near Hwy. 51 and Aspen on Monday, followed one of them and pulled it over for failing to signal and speeding.

Inside, police found driver Alfonso Shine, 40, and discovered he had just been released from federal prison for trafficking cocaine.

Authorities called in a drug dog and after a positive indication, said they recovered about 273 grams of cocaine from the car's center console.

Shine, who had previously been sentenced to 15 years for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, was arrested and charged with trafficking in cocaine.

He is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Police also pulled over the second vehicle for failing to signal as it left the gas station parking lot and recovered about $1,240 in a bundle of cash from the driver, Mari Beasley, 37, who is a convicted felon for cocaine distribution.

Beasley is also charged with trafficking in cocaine and held on a $100,000 bond.

Both men list Muskogee addresses.
