Former Alabama baseball coach Jim Wells is back in the managers seat.

Wells is the new head coach at Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa.

Wells was the Jaguars pitching coach last season under head coach Travis Garner, who resigned to take the same job at Starkville High School in Mississippi.

"We have a very good program coming back," Northridge athletic director David Atkins told AL.com. "I feel like the pitching staff is going to be very strong after a year under (Wells). There should be so many returning players, and now he gets the opportunity to call the shots."

Wells won 625 games and six SEC Tournament titles in 15 seasons as Alabama's head coach. The Tide reached the College World Series in 1995, 1996 and 1999.
