Jenks Residents Urged to "Eat Out" in Support of Restaurants

Posted: Updated:

Restaurant owners in Jenks are hoping the community will come out and support their businesses this Thursday.

The Jenks Chamber of Commerce is promoting a "Good for Thursday" event to help out restaurants who lost business over the weekend after being forced to close due to an E. coli scare in the water.

"With both Friday and Saturday being the busiest nights of the week for most of our restaurants, to be closed those days was particularly difficult," said Chamber President Josh Driskell. "This effort is just a simple way to tell our restaurants how much we appreciate them and that the Chamber and the community stand by them."

Businesses are asked to allow longer lunch breaks on Thursday, so that workers may eat out.

The boil order was lifted on Saturday after a water sample came back clean.
