The Marshall Durbin chicken plant in Jasper is the target of a bomb threat.

Jasper Police Chief Connie Rowe confirmed the call came in at 10:06a.m.  The plant was evacuated, and bomb dogs from Jefferson County, Cullman County and the Burlington Northern Railroad are en route.

Marshall Durbin is one of the largest privately owned poultry companies in the United States.

This is the second bomb threat in Jasper since early July.  A bomb threat was called in to the Walker Baptist Medical Center on July 5th, and the hospital was evacuated.  Brandon Peake and Tamra Files were taken into custody in Tennessee in connection with that incident.  Peake was also wanted in connection to a bank robbery at the Traders and Farmers Bank that same afternoon.

ABC 33/40 has a crew en route to the Marshall Durbin plant.  We'll have updates here on abc3340.com and on air as we get them.
