Tuscaloosa police searching for suspect in robbery, stabbing at Family Variety Store

Tuscaloosa police needs the public's help identifying a suspect in a violent armed robbery of a Family Variety Convenience Store late Saturday morning.

Authorities say a black male walked into the store located at 911 East Crescent Ridge Road around 11:30 a.m. and attempted to rob a clerk. A struggle ensued and the employee was stabbed multiple times by the suspect.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Police believe the suspect is approximately 25 years old, 5-foot-11 with a lean build. He was last seen wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt and dark pants.
