Will Muschamp is now the seventh-highest-paid head football coach in the Southeastern Conference following Florida's decision to up his salary $250,000 annually.

In just his second season in Gainesville, Muschamp guided the Gators to an 11-win season and a BCS Bowl berth, prompting school president Bernie Machen and athletic director Jeremy Foley to up the 42-year-old's salary. He went 7-6 in his inaugural season at Florida.

"Dr. Machen and I believe very strongly in Coach Muschamp and his leadership, and we felt it was appropriate to adjust his salary to be more in line with his market value," Foley said in a statement.

With the raise, Muschamp will now earn $2.928 million annually through the 2017 season, putting him in the middle of the pack on the SEC coaches's salary list. Alabama's Nick Saban tops the list with an annual salary of $5.47 million.
