One person was arrested and another was sent to the hospital after an altercation between a father and son ended with a truck slamming into a west Birmingham house and an officer accidentally discharging his weapon.

Police arrived at a home located at 4825 Avenue V just before 10 p.m. and found the feuding family members still inside the wrecked truck. Officers proceeded to shout verbal demands at the men to exit the vehicle and while doing so, one of the officers accidentally fired his weapon.
