Princeton Baptist evaluates security policy

Posted: Updated:
BIRMINGHAM - AL -

In the past few days, employees at Princeton Baptist Medical Center got new information about security.

The hospital's new security policy came about after a pregnant nurse was abducted from a parking lot earlier this month.

She was released unharmed.

Some of the changes include, enhancing security patrols and police presence in the area. Also, better lighting in the parking lots. The hospital is also looking to remove trees and bushes that may cause surveillance cameras to have hindered line of sight.

Ultimately, hospital administrators want their employees to be safe and vigilant.

"Be aware of what's going on around you, don't be distracted, just be vigilant, be aware of your surroundings and if something doesn't seem right, call security," says hospital spokesperson Jennifer Dodd.

Dodd says employees are told to use the buddy system and contact security for an escort.
