86 dogs removed from Odenville house

ST. CLAIR COUNTY-AL -

Eighty six dogs and eight cats were removed from an Odenville house Tuesday after a neighbor complained about a large number of animals at a residence on Woody Acres Drive Monday.

The Animal Shelter of Pell City and St. Clair County Animal Control removed the animals, which are currently being housed at ASPCI for evaluation. Odenville police are investigating, but no arrests have been made.

"Your heart just sinks," said ASPCI board member Neva Webb. "You feel so sad for the community and for the animals."

The animals are not available for adoption, yet. A veterinarian will evaluate their conditions.

ASPCI, which was already at capacity, is asking for donations. In addition to funds, the shelter needs food, bleach, paper towels, towels and blankets.
