Alabama St, UAPB picked as favorites at SWAC media days

Alabama State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff are considered the preseason cream of the crop in the SWAC.

ASU and UAPB were picked as the favorites by the conference coaches, sports information directors and media.

UAPB is the defending SWAC champion and returns its all conference quarterback Ben Anderson. Anderson is the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year after he led the Golden Lions to their first-outright SWAC Championship crown since sharing the title in 1966.

Jackson State defensive back Qua Cox was tabbed as the SWAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.

    Auburn and Clemson have agreed to a two-game series beginning in 2016. Auburn will host Clemson on Sept. 3, 2016 and play at Clemson's Memorial Stadium on Sept. 9, 2017.The programs have played 49 times in the past, including three times in the last five years.
