Ole Miss' Marshall Henderson suspended for rules violation

Ole Miss basketball player Marshall Henderson has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules.

CBS Sports says the top scorer in the SEC last season failed a drug test.

"Since the season ended we have talked a lot about Marshall taking a greater leadership role with our team," Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy said in a statement. "With that comes greater responsibility, and he must do a better job of living up to the high standard we expect from him and he desires from himself."

Henderson averaged 20.1 points per game last season and helped Ole Miss to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

He drew criticism for antagonizing opponents and rival fans. Marshall flashed his middle finger to the crowd after Ole Miss' loss to LaSalle in the NCAA Tournament.

Ole Miss is the fourth different college program Marshall has been a part of. He started at Utah, then transferred to Texas Tech and South Plains Community College, before he ended up with the Rebels.
