TUSCALOOSA - AL -

Workers for United Cerebral Palsy in Tuscaloosa are really praying for the recovery of one of their most active Board Members.

Jason McNeil was attacked after attending a Kid Rock concert in Buffalo New York.  He's in a coma at a New York hospital and doctors say its up to him to wake up at this point.

According to a web site set up for the family, the attack was unprovoked and police believe it was mistaken identity.  McNeil was hit in the head and required brain surgery.

McNeil has been involved with the United Cerebral Palsy in Tuscaloosa for more than six years.

"I've seen him involved here and he has a heart for what we do here.  It's just terrible what has happened," said Erin Treadwell, Development Coordinator.

Family and friends have set up the online donation site https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/1mn2/jason-mcneil-fund to help McNeil's family with expenses while they are with him in New York.
