BIRMINGHAM - AL -

Neighbors who live closest to 1524 Warrior Road in Ensley are still too shaken to talk about what happened.

Monday night, police arrived to find two girls shot. One of the females, according to police, is a teenager.

Tuesday, all that remains of a crime scene is scattered police tape. It's one of a handful of crimes that, right now, have people talking around Birmingham.

"She's doing fine," Tasha Milligan said. "She's still really emotional, but she's doing better."

Milligan says her sister, Latasha Berry, is recovering at UAB Hospital. Berry is the mother who was shot Friday night. Her two sons, Jonathan and Jeremi Berry, who were 17-year-old twins, were killed.

"They killed two innocent children," Milligan said. "And the rest of my nieces and nephews are traumatized for the rest of their lives."

Milligan says Latasha Berry is now paralyzed from the waist down.

The focus now turns to the investigation. Milligan believes police are doing all they can.

"We're hopeful," she said. "I think they're working on it. We're very hopeful. I think they're doing the best they can."

And she says the family is hopeful that whoever is responsible will do the responsible thing and turn themselves in.

The funeral for the Berry brothers will be Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church in Brighton.
