A good Samaritan delivers expecting mother to hospital

HOMEWOOD - AL -

A good deed can go a long way. Especially if you have the extra time and gas.

Friday, less than a mile from Brookwood Medical Center, an expecting mother received help from a good Samaritan.

David Robinson was on his way to the hospital with his fiance to deliver their baby. Their vehicle ran out of gas between the intersection of Lakeshore Parkway and Montgomery Highway. Eventually, Robinson says a good Samaritan stopped and drove the mother the rest of the way to the hospital.

"I first thought was I hope she don't have him in the car," Robinson said. "Then, she got out and I told her to get back in and she wasn't hearing that, so I was just worried about her having him outside in the street."

Robinson says he is grateful for that person who helped his family out in a time of need. Both his fiance and his newborn son are healthy and doing well.
