The Cleveland Cavaliers stunned everyone when they selected UNLV's Anthony Bennett with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft Wednesday night.

Leading up to the draft, a majority of experts had pegged Kentucky center Nerlens Noel as the first pick, but for the third consecutive year, owner Dan Gilbert and general manager Chris Grant made a surprise first-round selection by taking Bennett, who became the 5th No. 1 overall pick in team history.

The 6-foot-8, 240-pound forward averaged 16.1 points and 8.1 rebounds for UNLV last season.

Both players Cleveland passed over -- Noel and Maryland's Alex Len -- are in the midst of rehabilitating injuries.

Before sustaining a season-ending injury to his left knee in February, the 6-foot-10 Noel led the country in blocks and his per game average of 10.5 points and 9.5 rebounds earned him a spot on the SEC's all-conference first team.

After losing out on the top spot in the draft, Noel slipped all the way to No. 6 when the Charlotte Pelicans drafted him before trading him away to the Philadelphia 76ers. The Pelicans, who already have a former Wildcat center on the roster in Anthony Davis, received point guard Jrue Holiday and a protected first-round pick in the 2014 draft for the rights to Noel.

Len, a 7-foot-1 Ukranian center who just turned 20, continues to recover from a stress fracture in his foot. He was later drafted 5th overall by the Phoenix Suns.
