Matters of Faith - The War on Porn

Posted: Updated:

Some leaders in the Christian church say... there's a big problem... in the Christian community... and it's pornography.

While many think it's a hidden sin... new technology is revealing... porn is viewed more often in heavily churched areas.

That's why New Hope Publishers and the Women's Missionary Union are waging a battle against pornography.

Jay Dennis is a pastor and an author... who is waging a war on porn in his own church... and his new Bible study he hopes will be a tool to help men and women beat an addiction to porn .

Andrea Mullens works as a publisher at New Hope. She says, " Dennis took an alphabet battle plan to help people quit using porn. A to Z ways to quit using porn. A admit porn is a problem for you.

Pornography appears to be a growing problem in churches today according to a new study.

Andrea Mullens says, "The largest use of porn is in the most churched areas of our nation."

Birmingham and Huntsville are high on the list of areas that view porn the most.

Many people assume their viewing habits are secret... but in reality... anything you view online leaves foot prints.

Andrea Mullens. "When you go online you view anything there are these search engines that can see what sites are being visited and where they are being visited. you may thinking you're getting something no one knows about but everything can be traced."

Mullens also says, "The line between right and wrong is being blurred... in what is acceptable in the media."

She refers to a popular best selling novel... as an example of what the general public is accepting as ok.

Mullens: "50 Shades of Grey" "Now any other novel is saturated with the same kind of content. Our view of what is acceptable and what is not acceptable is changing."

And that she says is attacking the family unit and marriages... and creating a breakdown of what God intended.

That's why New Hope and the Women's Missionary Union is helping to wage a battle plan with authors Jay Dennis.. and Cathy Dyer, to win the war on pornography.

The books: " Our Hardcore Battle Plan" is available at most book stores and on amazon.com
