TUSCALOOA COUNTY - AL -

A 19-year-old teenager is behind bars charged in a weekend home invasion.

Investigators responded to DCH early Saturday morning after learning a man had been shot in the leg. He was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle. Minutes later, a 21-year-old man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm. Investigators say Milton Prentice and the 19-year-old shooting victim had conflicting stories where he was shot. Investigators say the 21-year-old told officers two men tried to rob him at his house on 48th Street East and he fired shots at back at them.  Investigators say they questioned Prentice and he confessed to going into the victim's apartment to try to rob him, the 21-year-old victim had a handgun and shot the other person with Prentice when they tried to force their way in.

Prentice is now facing attempted burglary and assault charges. The 21-year-old victim has been released from the hospital.

Police say there may be charges filed on the 19-year-old who was shot. He is in stable condition.
