Guitarist Keith Williams at Jazz in the Park

Guitarist Keith Williams will perform this Sunday, June 16, at Avondale Park. The free Jazz in the Park concert will run from 6PM to 9PM.

Williams is a Music Entrepreneur who has become one of the most prominent musicians in the Southeast. He has done several studio sessions and live performances in addition to touring with Ruben Studdard. Williams started playing at the age of five. He is known for his smooth style and touch, a just recently released his third CD, titled "New Birth."

Also performing Sunday trumpeter Cindy Bradley, of Buffalo, New York. After earning a bachelor's degree in jazz studies from Ithaca College, she went to the New England Conservatory to study for her master's in jazz trumpet performance; at the conservatory, she studied with and was influenced by many jazz greats including John McNeil, Bob Brookmeyer, Jerry Bergonzi, George Russell and Steve Lacy. The bands she was involved with played high profile events like the Emmy Awards and even the Super Bowl.

ABC 33/40 is a sponsor of the Jazz in the Park concerts. Anchor/Reporter Marissa Mitchell will emcee the summer long events.

    A federal judge is delaying his decision on an Alabama law that could close some abortion clinics. U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson told attorneys in June that he hoped to rule by the end of July. But Thompson notified attorneys Thursday that he needs extra time and will have a ruling by Monday.
