OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) - Former Auburn football player Shaun Kitchens has pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery.

Court documents filed Thursday show that Lee County Circuit Judge Christopher Hughes gave the 21-year-old Kitchens a 15-year split sentence requiring him to spend three years in jail for a robbery committed with teammates at an Auburn trailer park in March 2011.

A probation hearing is scheduled for Sept. 9.

Kitchens and three teammates were all charged with five counts of first-degree robbery.

Mike McNeil was sentenced in April to 15 years, and also must serve at least three under a guilty plea. Antonio Goodwin was convicted and is serving 15 years.

Dakota Mosley is scheduled for trial on June 10.

The players were arrested for the robbery two months after Auburn won the national championship.
