Tim Tebow to speak at men's conference at BJCC in June

BIRMINGHAM - AL -

The Gridiron Men's Conference is bringing thousands of men to Birmingham including former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow.

The conference will be held June 14-15 at Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center.

Along with Tebow, the two-day event features messages from best-selling author Josh McDowell, Southern Baptist Convention President Fred Luter, Chick-Fil-A CEO Dan Cathy and author and speaker Phil Waldrep.

Tebow, a first-round NFL Draft pick in 2010, has played quarterback for the Denver Broncos and most recently with the New York Jets. He won college football's most prestigious award -- the Heisman Trophy -- in 2007 while playing for the University of Florida where he won two BCS National Championships in 2006 and 2008.

    A federal judge is delaying his decision on an Alabama law that could close some abortion clinics. U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson told attorneys in June that he hoped to rule by the end of July. But Thompson notified attorneys Thursday that he needs extra time and will have a ruling by Monday.
