Investigation continues in Pleasant Grove after woman found with bag over her head.

Posted: Updated:

Pleasant Grove Police responded to a woman who was found on the side of the road near the Forest Grove Memorial Gardens cemetery Tuesday morning.  A 19 year old Hueytown woman told Pleasant Grove Police that she was visiting the grave site of a friend at the cemetery. At some point an older man approached her, putting a bag over her head.  That is when the woman says she passed out, not coming to until law enforcement found her at around 5:00 AM.

At first it was thought that the victim may have been raped.  According to police the initial investigation indicates she was not raped.

"We have no indication that there was a rape," said Sgt. Danny Reid with the Pleasant Grove Police Department.  "What we're trying to do is get all the facts of the case because it is kind of splotchy because her memory isn't readily available right now. We'll get to that later, when she is deemed medically fit, because we don't know a whole lot about what went on."

She is being treated as a victim at a local hospital.

Pleasant Grove Police contacted the Hueytown Police Department to contact her parents.
