No word yet on how Nicholas Bower died. The missing man's body was located Tuesday in a creek, behind the Talladega Superspeedway. Bower's family has been searching for him since he disappeared after a race.

Ten days after 28-year old Nicholas Bower went missing at Talladega Superspeedway, his body was found in a nearby creek around noon.

Talladega County Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore says Bower was spotted in the Jackson Shoals area, just east of the bridge on Jackson Trace Road, by a search crew in a helicopter.

There are still many unanswered questions about what happened to Bower since his disappearance on the night of May 4th.

His girlfriend, Jennifer Boesch said, "This has been a nightmare. Nick and I went to high school, we've moved down here from Indiana together. He's my life. I can't imagine a life without Nick."

Before his death, Bower had lived and worked in Villa Rica, Georgia where he was employed by Fastenal, a leading distributor of fasteners in North America.

His family and Boesch spent days searching for him before learning of his death and releasing statements Tuesday night.

"Nick is a great guy. The love of my life. Nobody can light a candle to all the joy and love he has brought me. He will always be my rock. I know he's watching down on me."

His sister Bridget Bower Chambers says, "Nick was a great man. I don't know how I am going to function without him. I will miss him more than words can describe."

In a news release, Sheriff Kilgore thanked the countless men and women who assisted in the long search effort. He also said our thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends.

Sheriff Kilgore says no foul play is suspected at this time. He also told us, Bower had been drinking alcohol the day he went missing, but he's not sure if that was a factor in his death.

The District Attorney has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
