Former fire chief arrested in Blount County

In Blount County, a former fire chief is behind bars on property theft charges.  Michael Claude Watson, of Warrior,  was arrested by the Alabama State Fire Marshal's office on two counts of first degree property theft and one count of second degree property theft.  The arrests came after agents conducted an investigation into the use of fire department funds while Watson was chief.  The 45 year old was chief of the Bangor Fire Department until 2012.  Right now, he's at the Blount County Correctional Facility on a $90,000 bond.  ABC 33/40's Cory McGinnis will have reaction on the arrest coming up on the News at 6:00.  Be sure to get the latest on the air on ABC 33/40 and online at www.abc3340.com.
