When the sun goes down, Birmingham's golfer lights up.

Beginning Monday evening, May 13 at 8:30 Regions Financial, title sponsor of the Regions Tradition Golf Tournament, will light up Regions Center with the image of a golfer. For the first time this year, all four sides of the Regions Center building will be lit with images of a golfer, allowing a 360-degree view from anywhere near the city center.

The lighting display encompasses more than 2,200 lights and reaches 20 stories from the 9th to the 29th floors. The display will be visible through Sunday, June 9 from 8 p.m. to midnight. and from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.

The Regions Tradition Golf Tournament will be played from June 5-9 at Shoal Creek near Birmingham.

    Birmingham Police detectives are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was shot Friday in the 1200 Block of Pine View Road.The man's identity has not been released pending notification of immediate family. On Friday around 4:50 p.m., West Precinct Officers responded to the location and found the victim lying face down in the street suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
