Skylar Diggins and the Tulsa Shock took the court for the first time this season on Thursday. The Atlanta Dream ruined the party, though, taking the exhibition game 72-58.
Diggins scored nine points in her WNBA debut, connecting on 3 of 11 shots from the field. Kayla Pederson lead the Shock with 11 points. Courtney Clements came off the bench for the Dream to score a game-high 18 points.
Diggins was introduced to the rough-nature of the WNBA early on, getting leveled on a screen in the second quarter. Then, later in the quarter, she caught an elbow to the face. Coach Gary Kloppenburg said she had have stitches in her lip to stop the bleeding, but despite that she returned to the court in the third quarter and finished the game.
The Shock hit the road for their final two preseason games, the next one coming on Friday, May 17 against Seattle.
