A fire caused extensive damage to a home in Hueytown Thursday.

The Hueytown Fire Department was called to a home in the 100 block of Hazel Drive shortly after noon. The owner of the home, Marvin Godwin, was at work when the fire began. A neighbor of Godwin called 911 after noticing heavy black smoke coming from the house while he was cutting his grass.

ABC 33/40's Bryant Somerville reports that Godwin and his wife lost their home in Pleasant Grove during the April 2011 tornado outbreak.  A little over two years later, they are dealing with yet another disaster.
