TUSCALOOSA COUNTY - AL -

Officials in Tuscaloosa City Schools are considering a policy to randomly test students for drugs.  Mike Daria, assistant superintendent of general administration, told the Tuscaloosa City Board of Education Tuesday that he and several other administrators have been in talks with high school principals about creating a random drug testing policy for students in middle and high school.  The creation of the policy is in its early stages.  Daria said officials are considering a policy that would apply only to students who are in extracurricular activities, students who drive to school and students whose parents choose to put them into the program.  ABC 33/40's Isaiah Harper will be following the story.  Be sure to stay with ABC 33/40 on the air and online at www.abc3340.com for the latest.
