TUSCALOOSA - AL -

Tuscaloosa Police are looking for answers after a man is found beaten and left for dead.

He was discovered April 14th on a grassy area leading into the Timberlane II apartment complex on 48th Place off Skyland Boulevard.

Investigators say the man lived in the complex with his girlfriend but they don't believe he was beaten there.

The girlfriend told police that the victim left their apartment walking saying he was going to a party.  Its unclear where the party was located and who he encountered along the way.

Police believe he may have been picked up by someone, beaten and dropped back off at the apartment entrance.

As for how he was beaten, Lt. Kip Hart says "We don't know.  There's obviously no stab or gunshot wounds so its unknown if it was hands or feet or some type of blunt instrument."

The victim has been unconscious since he was found eight days ago and unable to talk or communicate with authorities.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers or the Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide Unit.
