Four people were arrested and two children were placed into protective custody Thursday after deputies discovered a meth lab at a residence in DeKalb County.

Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports that a deputy and Drug Task Force agents were given consent to search the home located on County Road 1021 in Dawson after responding to complaints. Following a search, three one-pot meth labs, small amounts of meth and a large amount of syringes, crushers and pills were discovered.

James O'Dell Davis, 40, of Dawson, Phillip Aaron Hood, 18, of Fyffe, Jody Lavaughn Collins, 35, of Dutton, and Megean Leeann Collins, 20, of Dutton, were all charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

All four subjects were transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center and are currently awaiting bond hearings.

"The deputy and Drug Task Force agents did a good job on this case." Sheriff Harris stated in a release. "It is just unfortunate that there was children in the residence while this was going on."
