From Alabama State Troopers:

"A single-vehicle crash today at 2:35 p.m. claimed the life of a man from Lane Brilliant.  Danny Michael Corkren, 50,  was killed when the 1997 Kenworth tractor-trailer that he was driving west on Interstate 22, one mile south of Jasper, left the roadway and overturned down an embankment.  Corkren, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. No further information is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate."

Update from ABC 33/40 reporter Larry Miller:

Jasper Fire and Rescue say at least 1,000 gallons of oil spilled into a nearby creek after an oil truck overturned.

Investigators say they also spotted dead fish in the water which runs near mile marker 65 on I-22 in Jasper. Authorities say the spill could threaten other wildlife.

At this time, people are being advised to stay away from the creek.
