The Birmingham Barons will play in front of a sellout crowd at the new Regions Field Wednesday night in the team's home opener. That's 8,500 fans who will be making their way into a stadium that remains a work-in-progress.

Nick Dobreff with the Birmingham Barons says this will not impede the fan's experience Wednesday. He does admit there is plenty work to be done.

He says the stadium is more than 90 percent complete. And construction will continue right up until the ticket counters open tomorrow.

However, much of what you see here will be put away until after the home opener. Fans will not have to worry about being safe or dodging equipment as they walk to and from their parking places.

"It's a construction sight and there's definitely still things ongoing so fans will notice that it's not completely calm and collected in the area but certainly it wont be a problem for people," He said.

Dobreff says construction on and beyond game day is to be expected for any new ball park.

Barons owner Don Logan says the construction seen out around the ballpark has a lot do with trucks still needing access to bring in food and other internal equipment.
