Rotary Club announces walk-a-thon

Posted: Updated:

The Anniston Noon Rotary Club will host its 3rd annual "Rock Around the Park" in April.  Beginning at 9AM and going until 1PM, on Saturday, April 27th, this event includes a five mile walk/run plus 50's music, and classic cars.  According to a news release sent by Jennifer Maddox, the goal is to raise money for Rotary Polio Plus vaccinations and local charitable organizations.

Charities like 2nd Chance, All Saints Center of Concern, American Red Cross of Calhoun & Cleburne Counties, Anniston Soup Bowl, Community Enabler Developer, Interfaith Ministries, the ARC, and the YMCA of Calhoun County have partnered with the Rotary Club.

Participants are encouraged to get pledges for walking or running a 5 mile course at the Norwood Hodges Community Center. Any non-Rotarian participants can choose which of the participating charitable agencies their funds go to.

You can contact Gary Schoenberg at (256) 282-6364 / garyschoenberg@gmail.com, or Jan Hurd at (256) 239-135 / jan.hurd@gmail.com if you would like to become a sponsor or participate in the event as a walker/runner.
