440,000 Alabama Residents Expected to File Taxes Last Minute

Americans have until April 15 to file tax returns, but the IRS says many Alabama residents will wait until the last minute.

The IRS estimates that almost 440,000 residents in the state will wait until April to send their taxes in. 

There is good news for procrastinators though - there is help available.

Many IRS Certified volunteers are ready to help you prepare and file your tax return for free.

    Birmingham Police detectives are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was shot Friday in the 1200 Block of Pine View Road.The man's identity has not been released pending notification of immediate family. On Friday around 4:50 p.m., West Precinct Officers responded to the location and found the victim lying face down in the street suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
