A fire in North Birmingham destroyed one home and damaged two others Tuesday afternoon.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue were called to the scene at 3401 31st Street North around 2:30 p.m. today and arrived to find two additional homes damaged by fire that are adjacent to the original house fire.
A Battalion Chief told ABC 33/40 reporter Sarah Snyder that all three homes were being occupied, but no one was present at the time of the fire. The damage to the two adjacent homes is considered to be "fixable."
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
The homes are located across the street from Hudson K-8 School.
