Man Struck By Train Identified

BIMRINGHAM - AL -

Investigators with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office have identified the man struck by a train late Friday night as 34-year-old Gregory McMillin of Morris.

Deputies were called to the accident scene around 9:30 p.m. on March 15 on a report of a person hit by a CSX Railroad train. The victim was seen on the tracks before being struck, appearing to ignore warning horns being sounded by a train engineer.

Following a search, McMillin's body was found around 10:45 p.m. along the tracks, roughly 150 yards from where he was believed to have been hit.

Authorities have yet to determine why Morris was on the tracks.
