Warm weather, wind to blame for nearly 200 wildfires

BIRMINGHAM - AL -

Firefighters have worked to put out nearly 200 wildfires this week. They burned an estimated 6,655 acres across the state.

The Alabama Forestry Commission says the warm weather, low humidity and wind is to blame for the increase in fires. 77 of those fires started Saturday.

People are asked to use extreme caution when burning outdoors.
