After deputies in the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Unit received an anonymous tip that an unknown suspect was sending pornographic photos of himself to a 14 year old Jefferson County girl, detectives immediately began an investigation that led to the arrest of a 56 year old Adger man.

William Reeves Jr, was arrested on the charge of Transmitting Obscene Material to a Child.

The Sex Offender Unit and the Sheriff's Office Computer Forensics Unit executed a search warrant at Reeves' residence in the 9900 block of Lock 17 Road.  During the search detectives discovered evidence linking Reeves to this crime. They also found evidence that indicates there may be other victims who have yet to be identified.

The suspect and the victim in this case did not know each other.  It is not clear how or why this child victim was targeted.

Anyone with information regarding this case or any other involving William Ray Reeves Jr., is asked to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Unit at 205-325-5800.
