Pulitzer Prize Winner To Speak At Jacksonville State University

JACKSONVILLE - AL -

Pulitzer Prize winner Diane McWhorter will speak at Jacksonville State University on Thursday.

She will deliver the annual Ayers Lecture hosted by JSU Department of Communications.

McWhorter is the author of "Carry Me Home: Birmingham, Alabama-The Climatic Battle of the Civil Rights Revolution." The book won the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for general nonfiction. She was raised in Birmingham.

McWhorter will speak at 1 p.m. on the fifth floor of Stadium Tower. Admission is free and this event is open to the public. Doors will open at 12:40 p.m.
